All our jewellery is made to be worn, loved, and cherished for years to come.
However all jewellery will naturally wear with use over time.
With a little care and cleaning, you can ensure your jewellery stays in tip top shape.
ENAMEL
HOW TO CARE FOR ENAMEL
Most of our jewellery is hand painted in enamel - a colourful, glossy material that is very durable and resistant to fading.
Avoid Knocks
Knocks or drops against hard surfaces can chip or crack enamel.
CLEANING
Clean enamel with a soft damp cloth to remove any residue. Dry thoroughly so all moisture is removed.
Standard chemical jewellery cleaning products or ultrasonic cleansers should never be used.
PROTECT FROM WATER & CHEMICALS
Contact with hand sanitisers, perfumes, oils and cleaning agents, or excess sun exposure should be avoided to prevent discolouration and damage.
Take off when washing hands, showering, or swimming as too much moisture can cause enamel to peel.
VERMEIL & SILVER
HOW TO CARE FOR VERMEIL & SILVER
Gold vermeil is a very durable material and can last a long time with some easy care tips. We use only the finest 18ct gold in our vermeil collection.
Sterling Silver, also known as 925 silver, is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other alloys such as copper. 100% of our silver is made from recycled sources.
Protect From Water & Chemicals
Take off when washing hands, showering, or swimming as too much moisture can cause vermeil to wear off too soon. Contact with hand sanitisers, perfumes, oils and cleaning agents should be avoided.
STORAGE
Sterling silver can tarnish when exposed to the elements. We recommend storing your jewellery in dry and enclosed space such as the Hotlips jewellery box when not wearing.
CLEANING
Clean silver and vermeil with an unused soft bristle toothbrush and warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly so all moisture is removed.
To clean tarnish on silver, use a silver cloth to gently polish.
